   May 3^rd^- Over Night Motor Trip to Blowing Rock, NC

The Smoky Mountain Z club Blowing Rock ride is on for May 3, 2008.

We will meet at the Cracker Barrel at the Strawberry Plains exit (#398) at 7AM for breakfast and leave
for Blowing Rock at about 8AM.

We will meet at approximately 11AM at the Folk Arts Center off of I-40 on highway 74. After a brief
rest and tour of the center, we will be heading for the Blue Ridge. Because of a retaining wall
collapse on the parkway, we will detour slightly and head to Lil Switzerland for our first stop.
Ed & Nancy Fennell will meet us at the center and provide directions from that point on.

After Lil Switzerland, we will work our way North towards Blowing Rock. We will make photo and
pit stops along the way as well as stop for photos at the Lynn Cove Via duct. Bring drinks, snacks
and a picnic lunch. We will stop along the route.

Check in time at Blowing rock is about 3 PM.
They are expecting us at the Bowing Rock Inn, so make your reservations for Sat. night early.

Ed & Nancy’s house for a little relaxation and food on Boone Lake before you head back to Knoxville.

Smoky Mtn. Z Car Club Ride - Cumberland Gap, TN
Date: Saturday, June 7^th, 2008
Time:   10:00 a.m., Halls Walmart, 7340 Norris Freeway - intersection of
Norris Freeway (Hwy 441) and Maynardville Hwy (Hwy 33).

What: Meet at Halls Walmart for scenic drive to Cumberland Gap, with
lunch at Webb's Country Kitchen in historic downtown Cumberland Gap.
Opportunities for historical sight-seeing or antiquing in downtown area
before continuing drive back to Halls.

Route: Hwy 441 (Norris Fwy) to Hwy 61 in Norris. Proceed north (right) on
Hwy 61 to north (left) on Hwy 170, then north (left) to Hwy 33. Continue
north on Hwy 33, to left towards Sharps Chapel. At this point the driver
will have two choices:

1)   Proceed to Helms Ferry in Sharps Chapel, take ferry across a short finger
     of Norris Lake and on through the Powell Valley on Hwy 63 to Harrogate and
     Cumberland Gap. There may be clearance issues getting on and off of the
     ferry, depending on the lake level.

2)   Rather than turning left into Sharps Chapel, continue north on Hwy 33 to
     Cumberland Gap, to meet the rest of the group for lunch at Webb's Country
     Kitchen.

   Drive time to Cumberland Gap approximately 2 hours.

  Eat lunch, shop, sight-see, and return as group or individually to Knoxville via
Hwy 33, or Hwy 63 to Interstate 75.

   * If you are traveling east on I-40/75 take exit 379 (Bridgewater Rd / Walker Springs). Go to the
     1st traffic light and take a right on Bridgewater to Kingston Pike. Take a right on Kingston Pike
     and Ted Russell Nissan will be on your right.

   * If you are traveling on I-75 south toward Knoxville. Once you pass exit 108 move to the right lane
     and you will exit off to I-640/75 west and about 4 miles you will be on I-40/75 west. Then
     follow above west instructions.

Betty Nichols Has Invited All Club Members For A Day At
Norris Lake On Her Pontoon Boat.

We will meet at Hickory Star Boat Dock, Norris Lake at
10:00am. Boat will depart from dock at 10:30.

Please Be On Time.

You will need to bring a picnic lunch, snacks and the beverage of
your choice. And plenty of ICE.

                  Directions - Take hwy 441 N (Broadway) to Halls Cross Roads. Go thru
                                      Halls, hwy 441 will veer to the left, stay straight on 4 lane and
                                      hwy becomes hwy 33. Go approx. 14 miles, almost to
                                      Maynardville and turn left on hwy 144, there is a red light.
                                      Hammers Dry Goods Store will be on your left. Stay on hwy
                                      144 (Hickory Star Road) straight into Hickory Star Boat dock.
                                    Boat will be end of main dock.
